The LPI system is extremely robust
and should operate without fault during
the lifetime of the vehicle.
In the extremely unlikely event of
your LPI system developing a fault the
driver will be warned that the system
is non-operational but the normal operation
of the vehicle will be unaffected.
A DD engineer will attend within
2 days of receiving notification of
a fault, providing the vehicle is available.
Regular servicing is a simple procedure
that mainly comprises the checking of
the integrity of the system. The
operator’s workshop staff will under
most circumstances carry this out. Apart
from replacement of O rings at 1,000,000
kilometres or 5 years (whichever comes
first) and safety checks, the system
should be maintenance free during its
lifetime.
Written maintenance regimes and servicing
training are included in the cost of
the system.
At present there is no compulsory
requirement for workshops to conform
to the relevant COP 11 codes of practice
when servicing propane systems. However
conforming to the code is neither expensive
nor onerous and we recommend that workshops
servicing diesel/propane systems should
voluntarily comply with this standard.
If vehicles are stored inside for
prolonged periods we will give advice
on necessary safety measures.
