With sharp knife or scissors make a slanted cut at least 6cm from the bottom of all stems. Avoid direct sunlight (as it encourages bacteria to
breed), heat or draughts Keep cut flowers away from ripening fruit, as it
releases ethylene gas Remove faded or dead flowers from vase or arrangement. Top up water in vase regularly. Add cut flower food in
proportion. If flower food is not Always buy flowers from reputable outlet. Never smash or pierce the stems. Never mix Daffodils or Narcissi with other flowers, as
when their stems are cut they emit
