A cost effective construction solution

We feel Smart Logs are ideal for the construction of cabins in the UK / EU.

At present, UK building regulations demand that log cabins must have standard insulation fitted. Having a flat interior surface greatly assists in achieving this requirement.

'Smart Log' is a custom machined 'D shaped' Canadian Pine Log used with the flat side to the interior of the building, rounded side to the exterior. Log cross sections of 6” x 4”, 8” x 4” and 8” x 6” are standard, depending on building design. With Smart Log constructions, a butt and lap joint is used as the drawing opposite indicates.

The construction process using the Smart Log is simple and whole buildings can be erected very swiftly. The special construction bolts that go through the logs from top to bottom at about 8ft intervals, pull the structure together to make it extremely strong. Garages, offices, stables, horse shelters and in fact any utility building, can be constructed with Smart Logs. An added benefit is that buildings constructed using our system are moveable.

We are pleased to quote for ANY SIZE of Smart Log or normal rounded log cabin on a SUPPLY ONLY or SUPPLY and BUILD basis.

A drawing of the front elevation and plan view of an example log cabin is shown below, constructed of 8”x 6” Smart Logs, this could provide a 40ft x 20ft ( 800sq ft) cabin with possible two bedrooms, bathroom, kitchen and diner / lounge.

Original Log Cabins believe it's cabin materials packs are ideal for holiday park self build cabins. You can design your cabin(s) layout and external look, i.e. specify position the windows and external door(s) etc. taking in consideration cabin location and your internal stud-work layout. (not included in package)

Here's an example: £17800 + VAT *  purchases a Smart Log 'self build' cabin materials pack (40ft x 20ft as illustrated) delivered to site anywhere in the UK. Even with VAT this works out at less than £25 per sq ft.

You can SAVE MONEY by ordering a full container load. Two of the above cabin packs will fit into one 40cu ft road container, the price for each cabin would then fall by £800 - £1000.

The prices above are subject to variation with the following; currency, VAT and import tax fluctuations, and of course price increases.
